Tyler Ball, a resident of Wynne, was sentenced to eight years in federal prison on Thursday for possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas Jonathan D. Ross announced.Chief United States District
Judge Kristine G. Baker handed down the sentence following Ball's guilty plea on August 22, 2025, to a one-count Superseding Information charging him with possession of child pornography. In addition to the prison term, Judge Baker imposed five years of supervised release.
There is no parole in the federal system, meaning Ball will serve the full eight-year sentence. The case stemmed from an investigation by the Arkansas State Police. Evidence showed that Ball took sexually explicit photographs of a 10-year-old victim in or around 2015.
Seven years later, on January 27, 2022, Ball sent apologetic messages to the victim via Snapchat, referencing "what went down back then" when the victim was 10 years old. In one message, Ball wrote, “I’m really sorry. I’m balling my eyes out. You mean so much to me and I’m very, very sorry.”After receiving the messages, the victim and the victim's mother reported the incident to police.
On February 1, 2022, officers interviewed Ball, who claimed he had "blacked out" from alcohol consumption that night and had no memory of sending the messages.Authorities obtained a search warrant for Ball's residence, where they discovered a cell phone hidden in a safe. Forensic examination of the device revealed 14 images depicting sexually explicit conduct involving the victim
