Uniontown woman killed in motorcycle/eighteen-wheeler crash on North Tenth



As a follow up on a breaking news story we were first to bring you on Thursday, the Arkansas State Police says a Union town woman was the victim in the accident in which we provided a short video yesterday.


Police say Deborah Johnson, age not listed, was killed in the deadly encounter between the 2007 Suzuki motorcycle she was riding and a 2020 Volvo tractor/trailer rig at the intersetion of North Tenth and North I Street in Fort Smith.


According to the report filed by the Arkansas State Police, Johnson was traveling east on North Street when she failed to stop at a stop sign and ran into the path of the southbound truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.


The identity of the driver of the Volvo was not listed in the ASP report.


Offiicer Daniel Vaught of the FSPD investigated the accident and said the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash, which occurred at 5:42 p.m.
