Suspect sought in 2023 Pocola slaying arrested Thursday by US Marshals in Indiana

A man was arrested Thursday in Indiana for a murder committed in Pocola last year.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), 23-year-old Tyriq Eastling was arrested by the United States Marshals Services in Michigan City, Indiana.
That day, officers responded to a call regarding a shooting near Butler Avenue and Clark Avenue.
Barry Lemont Richardson was discovered dead at the scene in February, 2023. . He suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
OSBI was requested by the Pocola Police Department to assist in the investigation.
Based on the investigation, OSBI agents identified Eastling as the suspect.
After being located and arrested by the United States Marshals Services, Eastling was booked into the LaPorte County Jail in Indiana.
