Texas man awaiting extradition back to Sequoyah County on child molestation, pornography charges


A joint investigation between the Sequoyah County Sheriff's office and law enforcement officials in Texas has resulted in the arrest of a 63-year-old Irving, Texas man on charges of Lewd Molestation and Aggravated Possession of Child Sexual Material. According to information obtained from the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office, Michael Green, 63, was arrested Monday for the molestation of a 9-year-old girl in Sequoyah County. Green is accused of molesting the girl while staying with family members in Sequoyah County before fleeing back to the Dallas area where he lives. Green was extradited back to SequoyahCounty after his initial arrest on the lewd molestation charge. He bonded out on that charge and went back to Texas, but after investigators were able to download material from his phone an additional charge of possession of child sexual materials was levied against him He was arrested a second time for that charge on Monday night. Officials say Green was attempting to obtain a passport which was denied because of his outstanding warrant in sequoit County.


At the time of his arrest he was in possession of a loaded firearm, numerous cell phones, a large amount of United States currency, silver bars, and a large amount of foreign currency among other items. Green will be extradited back to Sequoyah County to face the charges.
