Suspect remains jailed after assault on worker at behavioral clinic
A Fort Smith man was arrested on Wednesday on battery charges after he allegedly bit one the caretakers at the facility, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.
Decayveon Latoye Brown of Fort Smith was admitted to Valley Behavioral Health on Tuesday and police were called when he started "acting aggressively" toward the medical staff on Wednesday. As the staff was attempting to restrain Brown, he bite a staff member on the right calf.
This is the second time in four months Brown has been arrested for battery on a health care worker. The other incident occurred back in March of this year and Brown was also hit a Petition to Revoke charge at that time. He also had been arrested in April of 2019 for Criminal Mischief in the First Degree.
Brown remained jailed Friday afternoon at 4 p.m;. facing a $3500 felony bond.
