A revocation hearing was held Tuesday in Sebastian County Circuit Court and a 48-year-old Fort Smith man was sentenced to six years in prison on various drug charges stemming from an April arrest for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia meth/cocaine/heroin/fentanyl charges.
It appears that YJimmy Gene ocum was arrested on a warrant issued in Sebastian County Circuit Court on Tuesday. He had also been arrested on June 20 of this year and was sentenced to the Arkansas Department of Corrections at that time.
Yocum has a lengthy rap sheet involving a number of drug charges and several parole violations and has been sentenced to the Arkansas Department of Corrections at least three times out of Sebastian county
At the court session on Tuesday Yocum appeared with attorney David Powell. The state announced they wouldn't prosecute misdemeanor charges and the defendant plead guilty on the other charges.
He was given six years in the ADC with nine years suspended and was given jail time credit, is required to furnish a DNA sample tp the court, and has to pay $551.97 in restitution at $60 a month beginning 60 days after his release.
As of Friday night, Yocum remained in the Sebastian County Detention Center awaiting transfer for assignment to the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
