A post-arrest warrant was issued last week in Washington County for a Clarksville woman charged with three felony counts involving drug trafficking and possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia.
Mikayla Dalton Ragsdale, whose son died in a 2021 accident in which her girlfriend was driving under the influence of narcotics was arrested almost exactly one year to the date after the deadly accident .
She was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on May 26 of this year and released on a $15,000 bond the following day.
The post-arrest warrant was issued after Ragsdale failed to appear in court last week
Ragsdale, who was not charged in the death of her son, was selling plasma at a Russellville blood center on May 24, 2021 when she left her child in the charge of Alexandria Suarez, then 23, who crashed head-on into another vehicle killing five-year-old Josiah Garcia and seriously injuring another child.
Ragsadale also has an open court case in Johnson County where she was arrested for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia i October of 2021.
Suarez, who has a history of felonious behavior, was eventually arrested and took a guilty plea, and was sentenced to five years in prison on a Manslaughter charge with another 108 months set to run concurrently for three separate drug charges. She had previously served time in prison for breaking and entering, fraudulent use of a credit card, and theft of property.
She is currently serving her sentence at the McPherson Unit in Newport with a parole-eligible date of May 31, 2023
