Fort Smith reprobate headed to state prison for eight years after plea deal on child sex crimes

A Fort Smith man who was arrested and charged with sexual indecency with a child, and sexual assault in the second degree was sentenced to eight years in the Arkansas Department of Correction during a Sebastian County Circuit Court session today.

According to information from the Sebastian County Detention Center, Antonio Hernandez Tugg, whose last address listed with the court was in the 1800 block of Cavanaugh Road in Fort Smith, received the eight years in post sentence on the back end of a plea deal.

Tugg, who was arrested April 21 on those two charges, was also initially charged with sexually grooming a child. He was hit with a petition to revoke four days later, and it appears he was charged with battery in the third degree on May 11th.

According to his booking information he has been in jail since his arrest on April 24th of this year.

In addition to the prison sentence, tug was given 12 years suspended. He was given jail time credit and must furnish a DNA sample to the courts. He will be required to register as a sex offender and is to have no contact with the victim or the victim's family.

His petition to revoke was withdrawn based on his plea deal.
