A Fort Smith man remained behind bars on Saturday for Sexual Assault in the Second Degree-Forcible Compulsion and Felony False Imprisonment after an arrest by the Fort Smith Police Department on Friday.

Fernando Valles Zuniga, 53, was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center at 5:06 p.m. Friday and hit with the felony charges. He is being held on a no-bond hold.

Zuniga was charged with a number of counts of forgery way back in 1999 but those were charges were dropped because of a "stale warrant". Since that time all of his interactions with law enforcement, before his latest arrest, have been for speeding, driving without a license or misdemeanor failure to appear.
