Early morning accident on Highway 7 in rural Boone County results in death of 82-year-old Lead Hill man

An early morning accident on Thursday took the life of an 83-year-old Lead Hill man in a two-vehicle collision at Highway 7 North at Kirk Mountain Road in rural Boone County.

According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police 83-year-old Terry Camp of Lead Hill was driving southbound on Highway 7 North at 3:22 a.m. when he attempted to negotiate a left-hand curve.

The 2005 Ford driven by Camp struck an unattended 1997 Mack truck that installed out in the roadway.

Camp was originally taken to the Northwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center by transport but later passed away at the hospital.

Trooper Firty Robertson investigated the accident for the Arkansas State Police and said weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the pre-dawn accident.

At the time of the accident, CCamp's death represented the 245th fatality on Arkansas roads and highways for the year.
