A 21-year-old FedEx driver was killed Friday afternoon in a one vehicle accident within the city limits of Gentry in Benton County.
According to report released by the department of public safety, Daniel Garcia Jr of centerton was driving a 2008 FedEx truck eastbound on Peterson road in Gentry. Near the intersection of brigant road Garcia drove off the south side of the highway onto the embankment. The FedEx truck then rolled onto its driver side ejecting the driver.
Garcia Jr was taken to Siloam springs hospital where he later expired from his injuries.
Benton County sheriff's office detective Wesley Grubbs investigated the accident and noted there was heavy rain and the roadway was wet at the time of the accidennt.
The wreck occurred at 3:29 p.m. on Friday according to that report.
