Boone County repeat registry violator released after 105 day jail stay stemming from July arrest

A 53-year-old sex offender, who has been arrested at least three times for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender since his initial sex crime arrest in 2007, was released from the Boone County Detention Center on Monday after spending over 100 days in jail for his latest faux pau.

Harold Lee Persinger, who was arrested in July of this year by the Boone County Sheriff's Office after a routine traffic stop, was already on parole when he was stopped July 22 of this year driving a truck that he had not registered with the department. When the deputy ran his information, he discovered Persinger had been arrested in September 17, 2017 and September 24, 2020 for the same offense of failing to register.

Persinger, of Harrison, was arrested for the parole violation as well as the sex offender registration and had been in the Boone County jail since that arrest in July.
