Brian Keith Mays, a 58-year-old man from Morrilton was found guilty of armed bank robbery and using a firearm during a crime after a federal jury trial last month.. The conviction was announced by U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester of the Western District of Oklahoma.

The robbery took place on July 5, 2024, at FNB Community Bank in Harrah, Oklahoma, east of Oklahoma City. Evidence showed Mays entered the bank, displayed a pistol, and took $12,123 in cash before leaving.

The FBI, Harrah Police Department, and Oklahoma City Police Department investigated the case. Security footage from the bank identified Mays, and a witness provided his vehicle’s license plate number, linking it to Arkansas.

Cell phone records placed him near the bank during the robbery. Additional footage from a Walmart in Oklahoma City showed Mays transferring $3,000 shortly after the crime, which prosecutors tied to the stolen money.

Mays faced a two-count Superseding Indictment issued on January 21, 2025. The trial in Oklahoma City lasted three days, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Daniel Gridley and Drew E. Davis presenting the case. The jury convicted Mays on both charges.

Sentencing is pending.

The robbery charge carries a maximum of life in prison, and the firearm charge adds at least seven years, with possible fines up to $500,000. Mays remains in custody.

The investigation included the FBI’s Oklahoma City and Fort Smith offices and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
