A 55-year-old Crawford County Man is dead after an accident on Sunday on I-40 East at the three mile marker between Van Buren and Oklahoma State line.
According to the Arkansas State Police 55-year-old Jimmy Franklin of Alma was eastbound in a Ram 2500 pickup truck at 6:50 p.m. Sunday when the truck left the roadway to the right and collided with a tree in the southbound ditch.
.Franklin was taken to Baptist Health Van Buren where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
According to Arkansas State Trooper Logan hatcher, who investigated the accident for theASPp, the weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
The fatality marks the 446 of the year in a total of 396 accidents across Arkansas roads and highways.
