Aggravated assault arrest triggers Felon in Possession of Firearm charge






A 30-year-old Fort Smith man finds himself behind bars on a no-bond hold on Wednesday after a Tuesday night arrest for Aggravated Assault With a Firearm and Misdemeanor Failure to Appear triggered a charge of being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.


Ryan Matthew Conner, who was sentenced to 24 months in the ADC in 2018 for Felony Theft of Property, was booked into the Sebastian County Detention Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to information from the Sebastian County Sheriff Office.


He served approximately a year for that arrest, and was arrested again for Theft of Property in July of 2019 not long after he was released. He also garnered two Sebastian County arrest of Mjsdemeanor Failure to Appear in the interim before his latest collar on Tuesday.


All of Conner's interactions with the court prior to the 2018 arrest were for traffic and failure to appear violation, according to Arkansas Court Connect.


He is scheduled for a June 1 hearing on the current charges.
