On Thursday, Stephanie Ann Stafford, a 32-year-old homeless woman , was arrested by the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office on a 2021 failure to appear warrant classified as a Class C felony.
The arrest marks the latest in a series of encounters Stafford has had with local law enforcement, highlighting a pattern of legal troubles spanning multiple years.
According to the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office, Stafford was booked into the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center Thursday and is being held on a $5,000 cash bond, with a court appearance scheduled for April 23, 2025, at 9:00 AM in Fort Smith Circuit Court.
Stafford’s criminal history in Sebastian County reveals a string of arrests dating back to 2020, primarily involving misdemeanor and felony charges related to failure to appear, criminal trespass, drug paraphernalia possession, and resisting arrest. Her prior bookings
October 16, 2020: Arrested by Fort Smith Police for two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine/cocaine ingestion). She was released the next day on a $1,500 signature bond.
December 8, 2020: Charged with a Class C felony failure to appear. She was released on December 26, 2020, after posting a $5,000 bond.
February 10, 2021: Arrested for criminal trespass and another Class C felony failure to appear. She received a suspended imposition of sentence (SIS) probation for the felony charge and was released on February 24, 2021.

June 26, 2021: Charged with a Class B misdemeanor failure to appear and a petition to revoke a felony probation. She was released on August 3, 2021, after posting a $2,500 bond and serving time for the misdemeanor.
The original offense tied to the 2021 warrant b appears to be linked to a 2020 arrest on felony drug paraphernalia charges.
Incredibly, none of her prior arrests seem to have been entered into the records that result in listing on Arkansas Court Connect.
Stafford remains in custody at the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center.
