According to the Arkansas State Police, a Winslow man died Friday in an early morning accident when he was struck in an incident that occurred on I49 northbound near the 28 mile marker.
James David Marcum, 30, of Winslow was killed in the early morning accident when he was s truck by a northbound 2018 Chrysyer Pacifica as he hitch-hiked along the road way.
According to the report, Marcum stepped into traffic as the Pacifica approached and the driver could not avoid him. He was struck by the left front part of the vehicle.
The accident occurred at 4:33 a.m. and trooper Kevin Yates reported tthe conditions as clear and the pavement as dry at the time of impact.
