A Fort Smith man has died as the result of injuries he suffered over the weekend when the 2007 Harley Davidson he was riding in the 3100 block of Country Club Road in south Fort Smith overturned and ejected him from the bike.
Police say John Newby, 52, was west driving along Country Club R0ad early Saturday morning when the accident occurred at 6:18 AM. Newby was first transported to Baptist Health in Fort Smith then airlifted to St. Vincent's in Hot Springs. His body was then transferred to the Hot Springs Coroners Office.
Information on the accident was not released until Tuesday.
Daniel Vaught of the Fort Smith Police Department noted conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the crash.
