The Arkansas State Police released a report on Monday that says a Pea Ridge man was killed in a motorcycle-car crash Saturday night.

The release of the preliminary report was delayed until officials could notify the next of kin of the victim.

Officials say 51-year-old Shawn Landrus was turning left onto U.S. Highway 62 from the southbound lane of State Highway 72 about 8:55 p.m., when he turned into the path of a westbound 2007 Jeep Patriot.

The Jeep struck the motorcycle and driver and both slid before coming to rest on the north shoulder of the roadway.

Landrus was pronounced dead at the scene. An unidentified injured individual was transported to Northwest Bentonville Medical for treatment.

Trooper Zenda Staab reported weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry, at the tie of the crash.
