Wednesday two-vehicle accident in Craig County claims 18-year-old Vinita woman

An 18-year-old Craig County woman died just after 2:30 p.m. in a wreck on Oklahoma State Highway 82 near Ketchum on Wednesday.

According to information from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Saffron Durham of Vinita was southbound on OK-82 when a second vehicle slowed to turn eastbound onto OK-85 and was rear-ended by Durham’s vehicle.

Kenneth Turner, 62, of Vinita, was the driver of the second vehicle, a 2011 Ford Econoline van.

Durham died at the scene from massive injuries, Turner refused treatment and his passenger, Carson Wiley, 32, of Vinita was admitted to Mercy Hospital in Joplin in fair condition with leg injuries.
