Wednesday Fort Smith accident fatal to 20-year-old resident

A 20-year-old Fort Smith woman died Wednesday as the result of injuries sustained in a two car collision at the intersection of Zero Street and South 66th, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.


An Arkansas State Police preliminary accident report says Alexandria Grace Hunter was driving a 2008 Scion north of South 66 when she entered the intersection and was struck by an eastbound Ford F150 driven by 55 year-old Eddie Carl Davis of Charleston. The accident occurred at 3:44 p.m.


Hunter was extracted from the Scion and taken to Mercy Medical in Fort Smith where she succumbed to her injuries. Davis was also transported to Mercy for treatment of unknown non-life threatening injuries.


Officer Michael Malone work the accident and nothed weather conditions were clear and the pavement was dry at the time of impact.
