The Madison County Sheriff's Office is holding a Huntsville man who was placed under arrest for shooting and killing a teenager on Sunday night,
Peyton Esca Dodson, 30, was taken into custody on Monday on numerous counts of Terroristic Acts and one count of Attempted Murder. The second charge was amended to Homicide/Capital Murder after the victim later died.
Around 8:53 p.m. pn Sunday, the Madison County Sheriff office responsded to calls about gunfire at an apartment building at Madison County Road 8662. When MCSO deputies and Huntsville police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Dodson in the middle of a sizable crowd in the complex's parking lot.
After Dodson was identified as the shooter by several witnesses, he was confronted by an officer and a deputy
The 18-year-old male victim, Levi Davis, was observed "bleeding heavily from a wound to a lower extremity" and was given medical attention on the spot. He was then transferred to a local medical facility where he later died.
Dodson is being held at the Madison County Holding Center for a probable cause hearing. His court date is scheduled for September 10. He was moved to a ;oca; dtention center fo holding pending that hearing.
