Van Buren man headed to prison on three year plan after plea deal for battery with a weapon

A felony battery committed with a weapon and a Felony Petition to Revoke added up to prison time for a Van Buren man on Thursday in Sebastian County Circuit Court.


The March 11 arrest for the battery and a follow up on the Felony Petition to revoke on May 5 kept Jonathan Seth Horton, 24, in jail since his March arrest and he'll get to apply the almost three months of jail time credit to his new Arkansas Department of Corrections sentence he received on Thursday.


Horton was given three years plus seventeen years suspended on the bundled charges, The petition to revoke came from previous felony convictions from outside Sebastian County.


Horton will also be responsible for fees and court costs to the tune of$60 per month beginning 90 days after his release from prison and was order to have no cotact with the victim in the battery case.
