Van Buren felon adds five years to existing three year prison term out of Crawford County



A 62-year-old Van Buren man with a startling series of arrests, convictions and dating back almost two decades was hit with a five year prison sentence with fifteen years suspended after a plea deal on drug related charges in Sebastian County Circyui9t Court,


Jerry Fay Odom was convicted as a habitual offender for Possession of Methamphetamine with the Purpose to Deliver Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Felony Failure to Appear charge.


The drug charges stemmed from a March 6 arrest. Odom still faces pen and pending cases from May for drug paraphernalia and failure to appear in October as well on drug related charges.


Prior to his most recent arrest, Odom went to9 prison on 2017 and 2018 drug charges that came on the heels of three other felony c0onvictions from 2003 to 2009 which was he draw either probation or suspended imposition of sentences.


Odom had to be brought in for court from Crawford County because he is on hold for the Arkansas Department of Corrections for three years for Failure to Appear and a Revocation plea deal on Monday. His Sebastian County sentence will be served concurrently with that three year term.
