US Marshal Service takes down two homicide suspects on the same day last week in Memphis

On July 8, 2025, the U.S. Marshals Service’s Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Kemarion Ward, 19, in Memphis.


Ward faces a first-degree murder charge stemming from the December 10, 2023, shooting death of Germaniee Stephens in Indianola, Mississippi. The warrant was issued by Sunflower County on January 24, 2024, and the case was adopted by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force on February 9, 2024.


Ward was located at a residence in the 3100 block of Duke Ellington Avenue and taken into custody without incident; he is now held at Shelby County Detention Center pending extradition.


In a separate operation on the same day, the Two Rivers Task Force joined with the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force to apprehend Thaddius Brown, 29.


Brown was wanted on a murder second-degree charge filed in New York on June 24, 2025. He was arrested at a residence in the 6400 block of Crossbrook in Memphis and is awaiting extradition to New York at the Shelby County Detention
