A 28-year-old Clarksville woman was killed, and three others sustained injury serious enough to warrant their transport to Springfield and Bentonville hospitals in an accident that occurred Wednesday on State Highway 59 in Gravette.
The accident occurred near the intersection of State Highway 59 and Bright Valley Road at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Chelsea Travis, 28, of Clarksville was the driver of a 2016 Kia Forte that was northbound on Highway 59. According to the narrative connected with the report, a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder driven by 39-year-old Eugenia Pelep was southbound on the highway coming out of a left curve into a straightaway. The Travis vehicle swerved and crossed the center line into the southbound lane striking the pathfinder.
Travis was pronounced dead at the scene. Pelep, 39, of Noel Missouri, and passengers Joyleen Immy, 42, of Noel., and Esther Immy, 43, of Lowell were all transported to either Mercy Springfield or Northwest Medical in Bentonville.
ASP Trooper Marshall Hill worked the accident for the Arkansas State Police and noted clear weather conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the impact
