Two sex offenders in Benton County arrested for unrelated registration violations

Two sex offenders that reside in Benton County were arrested on Tuesday and charged with two separate offenses stemming from violation of their sex offender registration requirements. One was arrested by the Benton County Sheriff Office while the second was taken in by the Bella Vista Police.


According to booking information from the Benton County Detention Center, 25-year-old Raehanna Dawn Van Galder-Malkmus was arrested an charged with being a registered sex offender in possession of a driver's license with the wrong address.


Van Galder-Malkmus was also help on a Failure to Appear warrant with the initial bash/surety bond amount on both violations set at a combined $8500.


Van Galder-Malkmus cannot be found on any of the local or state registries as a sex offender.


She remains jailed as of 10 am Thursday morning pending posting bond.

The second individual, Caleb John Gorsline of Bella Vista, was also booked into the BCDC on Tuesday and charged with one count of Failing to Register as a Sex Offender.


Gorsline, who was arrested in Alaska in 2005 and found guilty of Third Degree Sexual Assault was arrested by Bella Vista after he came in to the police station earlier on th month and filed a fraud complaint. In investigating the compliant, officers learned Gorsline had not registered locally or with the state since moving from Alaska and was listed on the Alaska state registry as being our of compliance.


Gorsline's last registered address was in Anchorage, Alaska.


The warrant for his arrest was issued December 27.


Bond was set at $40,000 in the case. As of Thursday morning, Gorsline also remained behind bars.
