Two killed in Benton County accident during rainy conditions on Wednesday

The Arkansas State Police released the names Friday afternoon of two Benton County men killed in a two vehicle crash on State Highway 412 just north of 71B in Benton County on Wednesday.


Police say Gary O'Neal, 84, of Sulpher Springs was driving a 2004 Dodge short bed pick-up south on SH 412 at approximately 8:04 p.m. when he crossed the double yellow line. The truck struck a concrete barrier and slid a distance before colliding head-on with a 2003 GMC driven by Jim Fultz, 56, of Gravette.


Both men were pronouced dead at the scne of the accident.


Investigating trooper Zenda Staab reported rainy and wet conditions at the time of the accident.
