Two car crash Wedesday in Franklin County leaves Ozark man dead and sends two to hospital

A 44-year-old Ozark Man is dead and a 58-year-old Clarksville resident was hospitalized after a two-car collision Wednesday on US Highway 64 in Frankin County , An unidentified minor who was a passenger in one of thpe veniucles was also taken to the hospital to be treated.

Police officials say that Robert Lee Holman,who was the driver of a 2013 Nissan, was killed in the collision that occurred just after 3:40 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

According to a report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Holman was westbound in his Nissan on US 64 near the Altus city limits when he crossed the center line of the highway and struck a a 2006 Chevrolet driven by Philip Knowlton of Clarksville

Holman vehicle struck the driver's side of the chevrolet. After the impact the Nissan rotated counterclockwise and came to rest in the westbound Lane facing East. The Chevrolet ran off the roadway into the South ditch and came to rest also facing east.

Holman was pronounced dead at the scene. Knowlton and the injured minor, who was a passenger in the Holman vehicle, were both taken to Mercy Fort Smith after initial stops at Mercy Ozark.
