U.S. District Judge Gustavo A. Gelpi, Jr. has sentenced Hank Sallee Williams, 24, for distributing fentanyl to a minor.
Williams received a 30-year prison sentence, followed by six years of supervised release. U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson emphasized the severity of the crime, stating, "Williams knowingly provided deadly fentanyl to a minor child. This lengthy sentence demonstrates that those engaging in this type of act will face significant punishment."
According to the plea agreement, Williams drove to a home in Tulsa, where he knowingly sold fentanyl to Xander Tewis, aware that Xander was a minor. Tragically, Xander died after consuming the fentanyl provided by Williams.
In 2024, the DEA seized over 292 million deadly doses of fentanyl, with lab tests revealing that seven out of ten pills contained a lethal dose. The DEA’s website provides more information on their efforts to combat this threat.
Williams remains in custody, awaiting transfer to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Tulsa Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam C. Bailey prosecuting.
