Tulsa man shoots home invaders in Thursday night break-in incident

A home invasion in Tulsa Thursday night didn't turn out too well for the invaders after a homeowner turned their own gun on the suspects, shooting one in the head and wounding another in the incident.

Police say that suspects broke into the home while a family of three was sleeping and the homeowner was alerted to the invasion by the barking of the family dog. The man confronted the suspects, who produced a weapon and asked for money. The homeowner was struck in the head with the pistol, but was able to gain control of the weapon during the struggle.

The homeowner also suffered injuries that required transportation to a local hospital. The suspect that was shot in the head is not expected to survive. The second suspect ran from the scene of the crime, which was near the intersection of Harvard and Admiral.

The Tulsa Police Department is actively seeking the second suspect and information can be phoned into (918) 596-9133.
