In a case that shocked the community of Henryetta, Samantha Stansifer, now 30, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the brutal murder of her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Jim “Anthony” Hall, in June 2015.
The events leading to Hall's death unfolded nearly a decade ago, leaving a family devastated and a town grappling with the aftermath of a toxic relationship turned deadly.
On the evening of June 14, 2015, Stansifer, then 20, and Hall, 23, attended a party together despite having recently ended their tumultuous three-year relationship. According to court records, the couple’s night took a dark turn when Stansifer discovered text messages from another woman on Hall’s phone, sparking a heated argument.
The pair left the party and returned to Hall’s residence, where they shared a home despite their breakup.

Initially, tensions seemed to subside, and the two were reportedly close to falling asleep. However, Stansifer later noticed additional messages from the same woman on Hall’s phone. In a chilling sequence of events, she told Hall she was going to the kitchen for a glass of water. Instead, she retrieved two knives and returned to the bedroom, where she stabbed and mutilated Hall, inflicting fatal wounds. Hall died at the scene.
In the hours following the crime, Stansifer made a chilling confession on social media, posting, “I did it. He deserved it.” She then contacted law enforcement, reportedly stating, “I killed my boyfriend and now I can’t kill myself.”
Officers from the Henryetta Police Department responded swiftly, arresting Stansifer at the scene without incident.

Hall’s family described the couple’s relationship as volatile, marked by frequent breakups and reconciliations. “It was toxic,” a family member said at the time, speaking on condition of anonymity. “But we never thought it would come to this.” The senseless loss of Hall, known to friends and family as Anthony, left a lasting void in the tight-knit community.
In April 2016, Stansifer pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in Okmulgee County District Court. During the sentencing hearing, prosecutors detailed the premeditated nature of the attack, emphasizing the brutality of the crime.
The court sentenced Stansifer to life imprisonment without parole, ensuring she would spend the rest of her life behind bars.
She is currently incarcerated at a correctional facility in Okmulgee County.
The case remains a somber reminder of the devastating consequences of domestic violence and unchecked jealousy. For Hall’s loved ones, the pain of his loss endures, even as justice was served.
“No sentence can bring Anthony back,” a family friend remarked after the trial. “But we hope this keeps her from hurting anyone else.”
