A 29-year-old woman arrested by the Rogers Police Department on February 4, 2025, for a failure to appear warrant out of Franklin County passed away the day after being transported to a Northwest Arkansas hospital.

Sources familiar with the case indicate that the cause of Allegra Warnick’s death remains unknown pending the completion of a toxicology report and a full medical examiner’s investigation

Warnick’s death has raised questions and concerns about her arrest and her medical treatment at the facility, which has spurred further sources to step up about their experiences at the Benton County Detention Center.

According to police records, Warnick, a mother of three, was taken into custody without incident at a Rogers' convenience store early on February 5 following the execution of the outstanding warrant. She was booked into the Benton County Detention Center, where she remained for several hours.

Early the next morning, Warnick was transferred from the detention center to a nearby hospital for reasons that have not yet been disclosed by officials. She was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Neither the Rogers Police Department nor the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, which oversees the detention center, has released details regarding the circumstances leading to her hospitalization. It is unclear whether Warnick exhibited medical distress while in custody or if other factors prompted her transfer.

The Rogers Police Department issued a brief statement acknowledging the arrest and subsequent death, noting that “an internal review of the incident is in progress to ensure all protocols were followed.”

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office eventually confirmed Warnick’s detention and transport but declined to comment further, citing the active investigation. That confirmation came after Today in Fort Smith became the first media to report on her death.

Warnick’s sudden death has sparked concern among local residents, with some calling for transparency as the investigation unfolds. The failure to appear warrant out of Franklin County reportedly stemmed from a prior minor offense, though specifics have not been made public.

Warnick also had a previous arrest in Fort Smith in August of 2023 with an additional notation for a hold for assisting another agency. The arrest in Fort Smith was for Public Intoxication.

Warnick's father and close friends have acknowledged she had addiction issues in the past and had been through rehab on t least two occasions.

Authorities have stated that the toxicology and medical examiner’s reports could take several weeks to finalize, a standard timeframe for such analyses. Until those results are available, officials are withholding judgment on the cause of death.

The internal investigation, which will examine the actions of both the arresting officers and detention center staff, aims to determine whether proper procedures were adhered to throughout Warnick’s time in custody.

This incident marks the latest in a series of in-custody deaths in Arkansas that have drawn scrutiny in recent years, prompting renewed discussions about oversight and accountability in law enforcement and detention facilities.

As the investigation continues, further updates are expected once the reports are completed and reviewed.
