TIFS Investigates: Political hack with ties to questionable non-profit comes under scrutiny for remarks

A small-town mayor just outside of Fort Smith has recently found himself at the heart of a developing controversy.

After reportedly being banned from Today in Fort Smith, this official has taken to publicly disparaging our publication, prompting serious concerns about his behavior and qualifications for office.

The initial ban may have been a mistake since we publicly announced last week we were "thinning out the herd" because of ongoing harassment from trolls and haters. However, this political wannabe decided to post delusory remarks about our publication on his personal Facebook page without contacting us about the "ban". He also encouraged others on his page to disparage our publication.

This mayor, who also claims ties to a River Valley nonprofit, has made bold claims, even suggesting that his organization might have solved the high-profile Melissa Witt case.

If these statements are untrue, they not only mislead the public but also undermine the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and investigators who are still working to solve this tragic crime. And if this "mayor" knows specific details about the murder, maybe his own chief of police needs to question him about withholding critical in formation in a homicide case.

Is this how an elected official should behave? Instead of focusing on serving his community, this mayor seems more interested in spreading baseless accusations and attacking those who hold him accountable.

His actions are unbecoming of someone in his position, raising questions about his true intentions and integrity. The citizens of his town deserve better...and an explanation as well.
