Texas truck driver dead after Wednesday morning crash on US 259 in rural Leflore County



The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Lancaster, Texas truck driver died Wednesday morning as the result of a crash on US Highway 259 in rural Leflore County.
Timothy Taylor 45, was driving a 2013 Freightliner northbound on US-259 at Hair Pin Curves. The truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the road to the right and rolled over on top of a cement barrier. The trooper said the high rate of speed was the primary cause of the accident.
The incident occurred just before 10 a.m. east of Talihina and west of the Talimena Scenic Drive.
Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical investigator. He was wearing a seatbelt but no airbags deployed during the crash.
