Ten-year imposed term for Fort Smith man after plea deal last week on felony charges


A 33-year-old Fort Smith man who has racked up at least seven felony arrest covering countless and various charges since 2016 was sentenced last week to ten -years with an additional 10 years suspended after being tagged as an habitual offender last week in Sebastian County Circuit Cpurt.


Billie Gean Boyster, whose last furnished address with the court system was in the 7900 block of Hart Court in Fort Smith, was handed down the imposed sentence last Wednesday after accepting a plea deal on aggravated assault on a family or household member and possession of firearms by certain persons charges. A possession of methamphetamine charge was also adjudicated in the plea deal.


Boyster, who was sentenced to 72 months in prison back in 2017 for other drug charges, has been in and out of the system numerous times in the interim.


In addition to the charges for which he pled ldy week, Boyster has been arrested for domestic battery, interference with emergency communications, an abother Bpoysteraggravated assault on a family or household member. Although listed a Fort Smith address at the time of his last arrest, the bulk of his charges and convictions have come out of the Greenwood District in lower Sebastian County.

Boister will remain in the custody of the SCADC until his pick up and prison assignment by the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
