

The Arkansas State Police says a teenage driver was killed Saturday afternoon in a horrific accident that occurred on US Highway 71 just south of Holland Place in Huntington.
According to the preliminary accident report filed by the ASP Sunday morning, the teenager was driving a 2012 Nissan Maxima southbound on US Highway 71 when the vehicle crossed over the centerline and collided head-on with a 2023 northbound Freightliner.
Upon impact, the big rig came to final rest facing northeast while the Nissan was left in the middle of the roadway facing northwest.
The age and the sex of the driver of the Nissan was not released in the report by the Arkansas State Police
ASP Trooper Josh Porter stated weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the 2:07 p.m. accident on Saturday.
