T-bone accident at intersection of state highways in Haskell County kills 22-year-old Talihina woman

According to information released Wednesday night by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old Talihina woman was killed in a Haskell County wreck Wednesday afternoon just outside of Kinta.

Police say Amanda Mayo-Conrad was driving a Volkswagen Jetta westbound on OK-31 around 4 p.m. when she attempted to turn southbound on OK-82 into the path of a Mack truck driven by John Cosper 55, of Wister. Mayo-Conrad was traveiling east on Highway 31 when she pulled in front of the truck.

The Jetta was struck on the passenger side and knocked off the roadway off the right side.

According to the OHP, 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene by the Medical Examiner following the accident. The cause of the collision is still under investigation but it was determined that Mayo-Conrad was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.

The accident occurred shortly before 4p.m.

According to a post from the Haskell County Sheriff Office, Mayo-Conrad was a 911 dispatcher with the Stigler Police Department and the Haskell County Sheriff Ofice.
