


A deadly two vehicle accident Sunday morning took the lives of two Russellville residents and sent a third to an area hospital for treatment according to information from the Arkansas State Police.
Polkice say 62-year-old Brian Conaster and a passenger in his vehicle, 82-year-old Ann Shield both died in the accident at 10:27 am on State Highway 7/ North Arkansas Avenue when the 2008 Toyota Highlander driven by Conaster pulled into the path of oncoming traffic.
Police say a 2020 Volvo D-13 driven by 68-year-old Jerry Ross was driving north on Highway 7 in the outside lane when Conaster pulled into the intersection off Darby Lane causing the collision.
The victims were declared dead at the scene and Ross was transported yo St, Mary's Regional Medical center for treatment of unknown injuries.
Traffic Officer Scotty Manning of the Russellville Police Deptment worked the crash and said weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry at the time of the accident.
The deaths pushed the Arkansas roadway fatality count to 378 in 2021.
