Springdale truck driver killed in rollover accident on State Highway 74 in Madison County

The Arkansas State Police says a 60-year-old Springdale man truck driver was killed Thursday in a single vehicle accident in Madison County.


According to a preliminary report from posted on the ASP website, Timothy Dean Sloan died when the 1999 International tractor-trailer rig he was driving westbound on State Highway 74 in the Wesley community overturned after an over-correction by Sloan.


The accident occurred approximately fourteen miles southwest of Huntsville in western Madison County.


The reporting trooper said Sloan ran off the northside of the road and overcorrected, causing the International to overturn and come to rest on it's top. Sloan was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison County Coroner's Office.


Trooper Ronnie Boyd reported clear weather conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the accident.
