Springdale man killed in motorcycle wreck Saturday on South 8th Street in Rogers

A preliminary incident report from the Rogers Police Department filed with the Arkansas State Polce over the weekend says a 24-year-old Springdale motorcyclist died in an accident Sunday on South 8th Street in Rogers.

According to the report, Jefferson Wayne Davis was piloting a 1993 Kawasaki southbound on US Highway 71B/South 8th Street near the intersection with Pleasant Grove Road. Davis was in the inside lane when a vehicle turned in front of the motorcycle on a green light.

When Davis applied his brakes, the motorcycle turned over and slid through the intersection. He was taken to Mercy Medical Center when he later expired from his injuries/

According to patrol officer Danel Washburn of the Rogers Police Department the weather was clear at the time of the 6:01 p.m. accident.
