A fifty-four year-old Springdale man is behind bars at the Washington County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond after an arrest on Thursday for two counts of Second Degree Sexual Assault on a juvenile under the age of fourteen.
Michael Lee Gibbs, who lives in the 2000 block of Reed Avenue in Springdale, was booked into the BCDC on at 3;45 pm on Thursday after being arrested on a warrant issued earlier in the day by Fourth Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Matt Durrett.
Gibbs was arrested for two separate crimes that occurred between June 1, 2011 and June 1, 2018 an the victim was thirteen years of age or younger. The first charge involved Gibbs "placing his penis inside the panties and against the upper thigh" of the victim and the second count involved the masturbation of a juvenile male.
Both infractions and Class B felonies in the state of Arkansas and the sentence upon conviction is five to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
A cursory search of Arkansas Court Connect and other records did not produce any other criminal charges or convictions against Gibbs.
