Solo motorcycle wreck on I40 in Sequoyah County proves deadly to Sallisaw resident




Law enforcement officials in Eastern Oklahoma say a 41-year-old Sallisaw Man is dead after a motorcycle accident near Vian on interstate 40 that occurred Friday night. 


A report from the Oklahoma Highway patrol says that 41-year-old Jonathan Walters was eastbound on Interstate 40 in the vicinity of marker 295 just after 8:30 p.m. Friday night. 


Walters lost control of the 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was driving, failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a cable barrier. 


Winners was transported to Northeastern Health System Sequoyah in Sallisaw where he later succumbed to what was termed as "multiple injuries" in the report. 


The responding highway patrolman noted clear weather conditions and a dry roadway at the time of the accident, which was still under investigation as of Saturday morning.
