Sixty-seven year-old Centerton resident incarcerated in "ongoing rape investigation"

A 67-year-old Centerton resident was arrested on a charge of Rape on Monday by the Centerton Police Department and remains incarcerated at the Benton County Detention Center on a no -bond hold.

William Edward Mason Jr. is the suspect who was arrested on the Class A felony, which carries a minimum sentence of six years, but no more than 30 years in state prison.

A call to the Centerton Police Department resulted in a denial of information of the particulars of the arrest beyond the standard "ongoing investigation" statement by a Captain Kelley of the department..
