A Paris woman who served less than two years of a prison sentence on drug charges and permitting the abuse of a minor that contributed to the death of her 19-month-old daughter is back in jail after a Tuesday arrest for Possession of a Controled Substance, Driving on a Cancelled or Revoke License and Class B Misdemeanor Failure to Appear.
Sierra Ann Johnson pled guilty on May 9, 2018 to the charges that sent her to prison after the death of her daughter, Kyla Woodard, who she had left in the care of Tyree La’Mont Williams.
Johnson has had another child in the interim.
Johnson received a ten year sentence plus ten years of suspended imposition of seetence on the Permitting Child Abuse charge. She also received two six year sentences on two class D Felonies and one years for a misdemanor violation, with all sentences set to run concurrently.
She also agreed to testify truthfully against her ex-boyfriend Williams.
Williams was later sentenced to 40 years for First Degree Murder on a plea agreement.
The child was already dead when Johnson and Williams took her unresponsive body to a local hospital in January , 2020.
Court records show left Woodard with Williams knowing that he had abused the girl in the past and sold marijuana. Woodard showed signs of previous abuse, and Johnson later admitted the child had been present when drugs deals had gone down in their residence, including an incident in which Williams had been shot in the hand during one transaction.
TIFS revealed late in 2020 that Johnson had been released on an undetermined date earlier in the year.
