A 48-year-old undocumented alien who has been in the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center since May of last year on the charge of raping a child under the age of 14 was sentenced to 20 years in the Arkansas Department of corrections Wednesday in court action in Sebastian County Circuit Court.
Antonio Esteban Sebastian, whose address is listed as unknown with the courts, entered a guilty plea as charged through an interpreter Wednesday in the court proceedings. Sebastian's charge fo\r purpose of the plea deal was sexual assault in in the second degree.
Sebastian was given jail time credit for the time he spent in the SCADC since his May arrest. He also was required to give DNA and is to have no contact with the victim upon his release from prison. Also on his release, he must register with local and state authorities as a sex offender.
Sebastian was initially arrested by the Fort Smith Police department and shortly after his arrest Immigration and Custom Enforcement put a hold on him because of his illegal status in the United States.
