Thirteen registered sex offenders currently inhabit an area in a one-mile radius in north-central Fort Smith that emanates from the 4700 block of North M, according to information from the Fort Smith Police Department public website.

The circle runs from the intersection of Kelly Highway and North 47th Terrace south to the intersection of Free Ferry Road and North 47th Street and east to west from where Grand Avenue underpasses I540 and at Grand and North 32nd Street.

The offenders inside the area range in age from 25-54 and twelve of the thirteen are listed as Level 2-Medium Risk offenders. The only other offender listed is a Level 3 High Risk currently non-complaint offender whose last know address is listed in the 4700 block of Skywood Drive.

The majority of the offenders are on the list for crime against children or minors, including one who had sexual contact with 10 and 12 year-old females and a female who engaged in sexual contact with a 10 year-old female. Two other males had sexual contact with a 12 year-old male and 11 yea-old female respectively.

The listing of these offenders is to promote community awareness and none of the thirteen individuals listed except for the non-complaint offender is currently wanted for any crimes. One of the thirteen is also currently housed in the Sebastian County Detention Center after an arrest last week on a new Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree - Sexual Contact charge.
