Sex offender with convictions out of two states arrested in Russellville for Failure to register


A 60-year-old sex offender who has convictions out of two states was arrested in Pope County on Saturday by the Russellville Police Department and charged with being a registered sex offender who failed to comply with reporting responsibilities.. Roberto Chetto Amill, who has convictions out of Florida and Texas for sex crimes and has also resided in Illinois, was booked into the Pope County detention center at 6:25 p.m. on Saturday and remains jailed in lieu of a $25,000 Bond according to booking information online. Amill was convicted of sexual exploitation/exposing organs in the state of Texas in 2007. thzt incident involved contact with an eight-year-old female. He had previously been arrested in 1991 in Florida and was convicted of exposure of sexual organs under Florida statute. There is no record of Amill being registered in the state of Arkansas as a sex offender. He also does not show up as being convicted of any crime in the state of Arkansas according to Arkansas Court Connect. It is unknown how long he has been residing in Pope County.
