Sex Offender registry violation puts 44-year-old behind bars in Boone County after Sunday morning arrest



A 44-year-old registered sex offender out of Yell County is behind bars today in Boone County after being arrested on Sunday for failing to fulfill l his obligations to register in that county. 


According to booking information from the Boone County Detention Center, James Thomas Linzy, whose last registered address with the Arkansas Crime information Center Sex Offender Registry was in Russellville, was arrested just after midnight Sunday morning and charged with failing to comply with the registration requirements as a sex offender. 


Information from Arkansas Court Connect indicates that Linzywas convicted out of Yell County for a 2007 Sexual Assault in the Second Degree. He was hit with a 36-month imposed sentence at that time based upon a revocation of an earlier conviction. 


 Linzy, who was also arrested in 2017 on a drug paraphernalia charge and for being a felon in possession of a firearm, was also sentenced to 48 months in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for that arrest. 


After being released from prison, the Level Two - Moderate sex offender moved to Pope County where he lived in the 1100 block of South Houston Avenue at his last check-in and registry compliance. update.


Dating back to 2002, Linzy has been the subject of three separate lawsuits brought by the office of child support enforcement in Arkansas.
