A twenty-nine year-old Benton County sex offender, whose last registered address on the Arkansas Sex Offender website was in Gravette, was arrested and released this week on a charge of Failing to Comply with Registration Requirements as a Sex Offender.
Nathan Dean St, Clair, who officials say was actually registered in Harrison in Boone County, was found to be living with a relative in Bentonville after investigators uncovered evidence via a search warrant that he had been at an address on Kendal Drive in Bella Visa for at least a year.
On July 19 an investigator spoke with St. Clair's uncle at St. Clair's registered address in Harrison. According to an affidavit, the uncle was "not being very forthcoming with information" concerning were St. Clair was living.
When pressured, the uncle stated St. Clair was living with his dad in Gravette When the investigator asked to see the room were St. Clair was supposed to be living, the officer was told St. Clair had no property there. It was also discovered that St. Clair was driving vehicles that were not registered with the state per requirement as his status as a sex offender.
St. Clair was arrested originally in May of 2010 at the age of 18 and charged with Sexual Indecency with a Child and Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree. It appears that case was settled in early 2013 and the Sexual Indecency with a Child charge was dropped as part of plea deal.
St, Clair bonded out of the Benton County- Detention Center on a $3000 cash/surety bond on Friday.
